why Help In Healing Home?
Our mission is to inspire healing, comfort, and camaraderie for transplant and cancer patients in an affordable, caring, home-like setting. For more than 20 years, we have served as the comforting, home-away-from-home for patients and caregivers. Thousands of Arizonans, as well as residents of various other states and countries have called us home. Patients are away from family and friends and are experiencing the pain and axiety associated with a life-challenging diagnosis. Likewise, caregivers are feeling isolated and lonely, which adds to the fears and anxiety experienced by patients. Guests, Anna and Bobby B. shared, "Who would have thought a group of strangers could become so close." Sarah S. summarized it this way, "The staff is so loving and caring, and every person I have met has been so nice and friendly, despite how stressful this journey can be."
Our guest-casita model is based on expert medical opinion, recognizing the powerful benefits of a quiet private space, a healing open space, and value of connecting with people going through similar experiences. The support that caregivers and patients give and get from one another offers a lifeline of hope, support, and courage. Patient outcomes are enhanced.

By joining the Sustaining Circle as a recurring donor, your contribution, combined with others', provides Help In Healing Home a source of income we can count on each month in support of our guests and guest casita program. With a minimum of $20.00 per month, as a Sustaining Circle member a brick is engraved with your name and installed at Legacy Park in celebration of your kindness. Legacy Park is adjacent to the guest casitas and offers an inviting shaded and sunny space to meditate, watch desert wildlife, or simply enjoy lunch in the Arizona outdoors. Supporting cancer patients and patients recovering from transplant surgery as they travel a tough journey back to health, is both rewarding and fun.
We invite and gladly receive requests from individuals, teams, and companies to hold fundraisers. Guidelines to hold a third-party fundraiser on behalf of HIHH include:
- Actual/anticipated portion of the purchase price benefitting HIHH
- Duration of the campaign (start and end dates)
- Any maximum of guaranteed minimum contribution amount
